Yes you can I did.If your system is broke (like mine) these are a great replacement till you get it fixed.I need a shock rebuild on my gears so I put these on till I get er done and am glad I did a BIG difference. I get to keep my fillings and handling is still good.Remeber to tie off your actuator plugs in the rear so they won't dissapear into the frame.Just leave some rope out and tie it off on the the mounting plate.
KYB's are the best bang for the buck for all around driving IMHO.

Thanks for all the input. After doing some research I am going with the KYB's. They seem to be the best all around shock for a street only vehicle. The Konis were considered but I think they will cause more ride issues on the street than they will cure. Dave McClellan even mentioned in his book that the 1984 Z51 suspension ride problems were related more to the shocks being overdamped to control the springs than the springs themselves.

Anyway, I appreciate everyones feedback. I am doing the shocks, trailing arm bushings, rear spring bushings and front swaybar bushings (all P.U.) in the next few weeks

Quick follow-up: I installed the KYB's today. They are just about perfect for the roads in San Antonio. Great ride, much less jarring under compression and less lift on rebound, no more floatiness or quiver in the steering wheel. More of a "european" feel. For $128.75 from Summit Racing and 2.0hrs of labor, the return in how the car feels is incredible.

Thanks to everyone for their input

My FX3 was not working(broken gear) so I bought some KYB's to send them out to get fixed. They sit in the garage in a box and have gone to low priority status.KYB's are a good all around shock. When everthing is right on my car and I have the extra money I will put the FX3 back on but no rush now.
