I read the check engine light code and it is two things.
1.) I had a stored code Left (bank 2) O2 sensor then the
2.)current code is a (Bank 1) Right O2 sensor Heater circuit.
The readings were around 450 when they should have been around 20-38. O2 sensor on the right bank. By the readings i am getting from the reader it seems like it isnt even plugged in. Where are these O2 sensors and is there a way to test them to see if they are any good. How hard are they to get at and replace. I just recently had a clutch done which is the reason why i think the O2 might have been left unplugged or not plugged in all the way. because i know the car was moved around witout the exhaust on so that would explain the stored code and the light has been on since i had the clutch done.
I had to go to your profile for the year of your car
If it is a 94 then I believe you are right The O2 sensors are in the exhaust up near the engine You can possibly get to them from above but much easier from below Very obvious they are the only things screwed into the exhaust with wires coming out You may want to pull them and if they look bad (black buildup, holes clogged) replace them I have never had much luck cleaning them
so they are right on the exhaust manifold... how many O2 sensors are there. Because it said right o2 sensor heater circuit does that give me an indication which one it is
is there a way i can test the O2 sensors to see which one i need to replace because i checked and i do have 4 O2 sensors. The code read (Bank 1) Right O2 sensor Heater circuit. Now i have 2 O2 sensors on that bank. which one is faulty due to this reading.

If you have located and checked that the sensors weren't left unplugged, it is time to start trouble shooting. Just because an out of parameter reading came from a given sensor, doesn't necessarily mean that the sensor is bad. Follow the trouble shooting charts in your factory service manual to track down the REAL problem without replacing good parts.
My 94 has 3 O2s. Two in front and one on the passenger side behind the cat. From what I understand the one in the back doesn't do anything. And it was put there becuause chevy was going to OBDII. I'm not 100% sure but that's what I heard and it makes sense because of the OBDII ALDL connector but OBD I computer.
the one in the rear on the pass side is definately hooked up to a connector and a harness so i would imagine it does something
Thats what I thought but...I saw somewhere on the forum a long time ago that it didn't because it was mid switch between OBD I and II. Anybody know the anwser??
