OMG!!! Did you steal them? I've never heard of anything that cheap!
Where you been hiding?Every KYB thread mentions the cost you can but them at Summit all day long for $29.95.IMHO the best shock for the money even if the were $50 a shock.
There is some interesting info here; kind of discouraging to hear that some Bilsteins need to be rebuilt after only 30k miles.
Though my '88 (w/ RPO Z52) came from the factory with Bilsteins it had a set of KYBs on when I got it 5 1/2yrs and 70k miles ago and they still seem to ride well.
The KYBS seem about a 1/2 inch or so longer than the TPIS and a old set Bilsteins I compared them to so the Kybs will raise the car about a half inch.Ill repost when I install the rears.
This is a simple poll for those who use/have used KYB shocks on their C4. For real world, non-track event roads would you use KYB's over Konis or Bilsteins?
I never had KYBs on my Corvette, but did use them on a Camaro years ago. Decent street shocks, but not in the same league as the Konis.
If money were no object, I'd go Koni's. But, money is an object so I would likely buy another set of KYB's. I didn't care for the Bilsteins that came with my car - too soft for my taste.

KYB's here on my '88. They replaced a set of 17 y/o 100,000 mile Bilsteins so it's tough to make a comparison. However I can say you won't find a better shock for the money.
They will if you replace worn shocks with new high pressure shocks.
I just installed KYBs on my 96 LT-4 and the car sits about 1.5 inch higher in the garage! I'm sure it will settle down once the shocks settle in after driving it a bit. I replaced the F45 system at 41K miles just now.
KYBs are really cheap right now at Tire Rack - wish i had seen that sale.
Air shocks or coil overs have the ability to alter the height of a car but I don't see how a regular shock would do so. The springs are what's going to dictate how high or low a car rides. Might ride a bit higher immediately after letting it down off a jack but would settle out as soon as it's driven.
I put KYB gas-a-justs on my '87. They are OK, but much softer than Bilstein with more rebound. You get what you pay for in this case. That said, not bad enough to replace them.

Marlon, I'm planning on doing this too: replacing f45 shocks with KYB. Was there any fitment issues, did you have to reuse any of the bushings etc from the OEM shocks on the KYBs?
BTW to anyone interested, Home Depot (??) seems to have a really great price on KYBs right now. I just ordered a set of 5 for $175 delivered (see below).

Home Depot sells car parts now??? I am still torn between getting KYB or Bilstein when it's time to replace all four shocks.
From what I see on here lots of C-4 owners seem to think the shocks will fix there handling problems or really make their old C-4 a great handler no the only thing shocks will or can do is enhance what you already have under the thing ,I have been using the KYBs for years on C-4s good middle of the road shock not too stiff not too soft ,if wanting a uber hi end shock these aren't for you these are just a good for the money every day shock ..
