I have 139k miles and leaks everywhere and now I am starting to hear valves on passenger side, plus a noise from the same side. Can't really tell you what noise sounds like but it is pretty loud. Advance has a rebuilt for $699 w/1yr warrenty, has anyone used this engine or am I better off having it rebuilt?

Never heard of them, where can they be purchased. You may want to check with Jasper Engines from Jasper Indiana, they have good deals on reman engines as well.
I am not familiar with, and don't know anyone who has used that engine. Are you looking to spend as little as possible? If not, what is your budget for the engine? Can you do any of the work yourself? There are a few very nice crate engines out there that will give you a nice performance increase, too.
For a corvette,I would not use a chain stores reman motor. You have no idea what the quality of the work is gonna be,it can be excellent, hit or miss or awful.I have seen some of their displays and seen their rebuilt heads and transmissions laying around but always thought it was best to have YOUR engine fixed, and knowing what it needed and etc rather than buy another old core that was rebuilt by company X.
When I pulled my L98,I got it rebuilt for around 1500 by a decent shop that specialized in fixing GM engines,GM cars and trucks. The machine shop was very knowledgable and was flexible to work with the budget. You dont always need high performance work that will set you back alot more $$$.
Were you planning on having someone help you pull your engine or have a shop do it for you?
