Default TB cable misalignment...???

Got a '76 w/ a '95 LT1 and having a problem w/ the throttle cable not falling back in it's "guide" if I get past about 30% (just a guess... whenever I get on it a bit). This seems impossible, in that the cable fits EXECTLY where it should in the bracket and is in-line w/ everything (there's no adjustments in the position of the TB, bracket or cable).

How can I keep the cable inline?

Thanks...this makes me crazy!

That cable used to go through an ASR system that had a tensioner pulley setup in it that kept the cable tight. You will have to come up with some way of keeping the cable tight behind that spot.

Wow, that "ASR" is a complicated little "thing-a-ma-jig", but I guess serves it's purpose if you have Cruise Control and/or Traction Control.

Since I don't have either (although I guess I could rig up the Cruise Control), I purchased an F-body cable, as I was told or read somewhere that it would work. I guess I need to check out the F-body throttle cable set-up and see how theirs stays in place, or maybe find a used "ASR" and gut the electrical compenents out of it and just use the cams...???

I am sure your gonna find a spring somewhere in the F-body setup somewhere.Mabey even in the cable?Got to be some way to keep more tension than the TB spring.

there are hundreds of people who have probably used LTxs in cars other than the c4s. there must be a simple solution. maybe ask a shope who does conversions?

Ya Know I was thinking that the cable you have does have an adjuster on it if it is from a post 93 F-body.It might look like a junction with a button on it.If you push that button it will release the cable. Then you push the pedal to the floor to adjust it.I think that is how it works.
