1990 replace front emblem
Does anyone know how to replace the front emblem to a 1990 vette? I bought the emblem, but it seems to be very hard to get to the old one and I'd like an easier way if possible. Thanks!

Stick a piece of electrical tape into the opening of a 10mm socket so that when you push it onto the nut, the nut will stay in the socket.Remove the 2 speed nuts. Repeat the tape for install. If you loose a nut in the hood be prepared with a magnet

Another option is if you have some leftover clay bar a small piece of clay in the socket will work as well. Use a deep well socket helps too.
Heat the emblem up using a heat gun or hair dryer, heat it up all over then work the rings by prying up with your finger/finger nail. It gets pretty warm so keep the heat source moving so as not to just focus in one spot. Once they pop free work the bow tie corners until it lifts off. Use something like 3M Adhesive Cleaner to remove the left over material, this won't hurt the finish. (I also used a wax cleaner afterwards then a little Z2 Pro before applying the new emblem.

Just replaced mine using simlar method. I didn't use the heat gun, but sounds like a great idea.
