You would have to change the colored plastic ribbon behind the lcd screens. It is one piece and carries the yellow and red colors also. I guess you could fab something, but taking it apart would answer your questions on how.
I'm thinking about taking all the amber out and just using the green and red... Or maybe just replace all the amber with blue. At least the white or blue digits would look a lot cooler than old and low tech amber color. JMHO...

Need any help JR? Realize that the dash changed every few years, added more lights, but it may be possible to use the 88 gel in a 85 for example, without problems. There'd just be a window cut for a overdrive upshift light for example, that isn't used.
84s would most definitely require different gels, because I think the bargraphs and numbers are in different places.
I need to pull mine out and redo it, I'm not completely satisfied with the quality of it. I learned a few things in the process. One of thosee being this is a job that it sucks to do twice

To get white numbers you'll probably need different bulbs. These put out amber light, and even after I put some purple tint in there, it still has yellowish numbers. The picture is under full power, but as the dash dims the letters get more yellow.
I bought some blue ricer bulbs for it, but I don't think they'll be bright enough.. There's some silver coated 194 bulbs at Pep Boys that I should try instead.
What type of film are you using? Is it similar to window tint but in a single wavelength color? I was thinking about using colored saran wrap but that might melt and cause me my stash and digidash.

Would bright white LEDs work, provided I take out the amber color filter? All I care about is the digits showing up nicely.
