Default Torque settings for Runners needed please

Hi;

The Haynes manual I have doesn't seem to list what I need, which is;

Torque settings for Runners to intake manifold
&
Torque settings for Runners to plenum, both for my '85.

I'm guessing they'll be in the vicinity of anywhere from 15 - 25lbf
...I doubt they'd say 30flb for this application.

I am digging from memory here... but I think it's 18ftlb.

To be honest, the key here is consistancy.

Cheers, yeah I realise consistency is more the point for warpage reasons.

Anyone else have the factory settings?

Thanks. I'm not really after any bell ringings or memories, just ACTUAL factory specs.

No mate, SORRY - I didn't mean it to sound that way! I DO appreciate your thoughts. I'd just like to know the exact range GM specifies on this and decide for myself the amount of variation.

the 18lbs setting is from the Edelbrock kit, to be honest, so they may have different requirements.

Bogus is right...19 ft/lbs, even for the factory pieces. What I do is run them all down till they are snug, then go 1/8 turn more..this is about 15 ft/lbs.

Yeah mate, I thought it was a fairly straight forward question too...

JUST to be MORE precise; My runners are STOCK '85 ones and they're going into STOCK '85 Inlet manifold.

Might take a closer look at the Haynes manual...

Thanks, but as 'casethecorvetteman' says; there's a BIG difference between '90 & '85, and I DID state right at the beginning, mine is an '85.

CORRECT GM specs from a CF mate Bob (I forgot his nickname) IS 18.

There is absolutely zero difference between 85 and 90 plenum/runners as far as fastening goes. The only difference you'll find is that the intake manifold itself the bolts are at a different angle, the cold start valve does not exist, and there is no rear coolant line. If anything I'd more trust the later #s since '85 was a "first year" engine.
