New chip help needed
http://www.moates.net/product_info.p...products_id=41
I put a .bin file on the chip in my pocket programmer 2 and verified it as well. The .bin is on the chip properly.
I disconnected battery.
I dropped the hush panel
I dropped the ECM and removed the cover plate.
I removed the memcal and placed memcal on adapter the way it was shown in the pics on moates.net.
I put the burned AT29C256 chip with my new .bin on it into the G1 adapter the way it was shown on pics on moates.net.
I then put the entire unit back into the ECM making sure the adapter lined up with the pins correctly and pushed down and closed the retaining clips on the ECM.
I then hooked battery back.
Went to start it and the fans were running and the battery was near dead. WTF? I tried to boost it to no avail. I checked all battery connections and they were fine. So, I disconnected the battery again and removed the adapter and put the earlier memcal back in. After boosting it (battery was near dead) it started right up no problems.
I tried new chip with G1 adapter and same thing happened. So, I put the earlier memcal back in and boosted it and it started up no problems.
What would be the cause of this? I know the .bin was transfered to the chip cuz I can verify it and move it to buffer and save it. It's the same .bin as on my desktop computer when I look at it in TunerPro.
Please help me.
Am I supposed to change this device start option?
The checksum on pocket programmer is also different than the checksum on tunerpro.
checksum on pp2 3f84
checksum on tp 3a4f

use the command in the DOS window
copy /b rev1.bin+rev1.bin rev1combined.bin
Where rev1 is the name you gave to your modified bin
and
Rev1combined can be any name which you want to call the combined bin that will be created.

You need to use the above command I documented above in "MS-DOS" window. Just go to your start button, and find it in the menue. I will open up a small seperate window in which you can type in. You will need to navigate around using old DOS commands like cd c:\ to change to the directory in which you want to save and retrieve the file from.
If your not real familiar with these commands you can always just start the program at the desired location....do a search for these locations for the different size files and eproms.
I'm not sure how to do this. Details please.
