I have a 1963 Corvette GS Rep. with an LT1 that has a 16159278 Computer. We tried to download the data using Tuner Cat with the $DA3 file (for 92-93 Corvette) instead of the $DA2 (for 93 F Body). The chip in the computer is for a 93 F body. Data would not download. Do I need to buy the F body chip file just to download the data?

Bill you need the ECM Definition for the F body. And then you need to read the Custom chip from Ed using a prom reader such as a Pocket Programmer 2. Then you can start up the Tuner Program, choose the DA3 ECM then open the bin file that you read from the chip.
My original message was incorrect and labeled the $DA3 as a corvette file. It is a 93 Cararo so we have the right Tunercat file.
But then you mention "And then you need to read the Custom chip from Ed using a prom reader such as a Pocket Programmer 2." Do we need to read the chip before we can download the computer data?
