Default waterpump

I have about 62k on my 95 and am thinking about the waterpump, most cars change at about 60k. Not having any problems now but a leak is bad news because of the optispark. I know once I got in there I would do pump and optispark but I am reluctent to tear into something that is not giving me any problems. Is there a set milage when change is advised. Thank you

You have a 95 with the vaccum system on the distributor.
I would not worry about it until you smell coolent.
You model should go I would think about 100,00 before you have to change it.
I changed mine at 80,000 coolent smell and I pushed it another 5,000.
It will miss and become hard starting.

A set mileage? How about 1,000,000 miles. Or the day after __ freezes over.

My new, stock replacement waterpump locked up and has caused the demise of the whole motor. I would advise leaving yours alone until you have no choice and then going electric. See my other post if you'd like more details.

Mine failed at 52k miles, about 3 weeks after I bought the car.

There is no "set mileage" for these things. They're like an aneurysm, everything seems fine one day, the next day, with very little warning it's gone.
