Alternator possible quick fix!
Ever since I bought my C4 I have been having alternator issues where it works ok for a 10 minutes and then it discharges for 30 seconds and then starts working again, this cycle just keeps repeating. I have probably replaced the alternator 5 times and they all seem to eventually act up.
I started thinking that there is no way I can possibly be having this many alternator problems and it must be something else causing the problem. I found the problem, it was a poor connection on the heavy red wire on the two pin connector that plugs into the side of the alternator. The metal connector had lost some of its clamping force and it would loss contact with the spade in the alternator. To fix the problem I removed the heavy red wire and its contact from the plastic holder and crimped the contact tighter so it would grab the spade in the alternator tighter. My alternator charging problems have gone away.
I posted this because it seems like alot of people have charging problems with C4's and maybe their problem is the same as mine.

Ordinarily, I'd say post this in Tech Tip (Other - Tech Tips- C4), but they haven't put up any tips in that section in about year...
