Diff Gear measurement
Where do you measure the crownwheel ( to get the 8.5" for a D44)?
Across the teeth or across the mounting face as gears are angled and diameter larger across teeth side
What year vette did it come from? If you know the tranny the rearend was bolted to, automatics came with a D36 and manuals came with D44.

The seller has acquired these parts, has no knowledge of source.
Has a diff head with stuffed gears and a crownwheel / pinion combo which may or not fit..
Want to know where D44 8.5" measurement is taken as in 9" Ford ; is it measured across the teeth (most likely ) or across the mounting face?
On a deal this expensive and time consuming go with new gears only. Gears may look good, but think how bad you would feel on your first drive after the install and hear a hi-pitched whine coming from thr rear.
C4's are expensive (try US$20K + for a '87) ,fairly rare and parts even more so.
Shipping from the US virtually doubles the price YOU pay plus duties , so when a deal comes along it is worth checking out.
