Default Plug gap on Stock 85

The sticker under the hood says gap recommendation was changed from.045 to .035.

Since the plugs are a pain to change,I want to get it right.

Would appreciate any help.

PS: I have a K&N short intake coming and will be installing a stage 1 chip soon.

Either will be fine. "I" would only go .035 if it were me. Bigger gaps tend to put more strain on the ignition system with (imho) no gain. I run mine at .030. Nitrous has a habit of blowing out the flame, so I shrink it up for safety.

.035. I might consider going higher if I had an aftermarket coil, or if I knew more about the science behind spark plugs.

The .045" was the original factory setting...then they had a lot of ignition modules burning out and traced it down to the larger plug gap stressing the modules...so they changed the gap to .035"...use that.
