Default wow

Those are some killer numbers on a mustang dyno. Very impressive.
I'm jealous. LT4's are sweet.
Have fun!

Here's the contact infor for Gary Grimes;

Grimes Automotive Machine
215 Tidwell Dr
Alpharetta, GA 30004-5640 Phone: (770) 475-5272

It might be very difficult to talk to Gary because he is extremely busy. And he really doesn't do much work for the general public, he did mine for a discount as a favor. And even with the discount (20-25%) it cost me just over $3000. So if you want him to do your work be expected to PAY for it. If you are really interested about having Gary do some work for you get ahold of me and I'll put you in contact with someone that can have work done through Gary.

I don't have a flow sheet on hand, I lost the last one I had earlier this year when I moved...I've had plans to call Gary and get another one for a while now! Here's a pic of the intake runner to give you an idea of the size difference from a stock 190-195cc LT4 head;

Mine on top, stock LT4 on bottom;

The combustion chambers are Garys specialty though, extremely efficient and able to run high compression on low octane gas. Gary wanted to run me at 11.8:1 on 91 octane, but I had to convince him to go a bit lower to 11.3 because this is my daily driver and I needed to be sure it would not ping or detonate with out crappy AZ gas.

Here is a pic of a stock LT4 chamber;

Here are mine;

I'm using the following parts;

-ISKY valve springs P#8005-A...around 180# seat pressure if I remember right
-Copper Beryllium exhaust seats
-Titanium retainers
-2.055" stainless intake valves
-1.6" stainless exhaust valves
-10* locks
-Comp Cams race series hydraulic lifters
-Stock LT4 balancer
-SPEC aluminum flywheel
-Portred LT4 intake, no re-welding

It was still making power up top, and the guys at the dyno wanted to take it to 7200-7300...but like I said, it's my daily driver and I wanted to wait on that. Here's a scan of the power at 50rpm increments;

I had to split into two images because they were on two pages...

Okay, I think that covers most everything. If I missed something let me know!!

I have a Corsa cat-back on it...I'm thinking of replacing it with a 3" system though...

Jeff, I'll save the gears for you! No clue on when I'll be pulling them though...I need to take a break from this thing for a while!

Jay, those numbers are insane! What's your next mod, gold plating the entire engine? As soon as Trevor gets the bugs worked out of my car, I want to try my hand at the track also. Let me know when you plan on going. Speedworld, Ricer-Firebird, or the Loop 202? Do you do training with People-Soft?

Those are awesome #'s. That torque, as you mentioned, is incredibly flat.

As I watch various motors go together on this forum it has become very clear that with a few extra cubes and great heads, relatively mild cams can make big power. Maybe this is old news, but I still hear guys talk about running big cams to make power, it is clear to me now that heads give the best of both worlds, big power with a driveable cam.

With your motor and others here at that power level, there is nothing particularly exotic, while the head work is excellent and extensive, they are not some wild canted valve 14* degree head. Impressive.

And finally, I love hearing that you made 466 through Corsa 2.5 exhaust. I'm looking for those type #'s out of my current project and was not keen on going back to head splitting resonance with a 3" system.
