Default turbo update progress,,

well guys,

last night and today were very slow going, but i had a great break through that I am simply joyous about. I redesigned the passenger side manifold to be used with the stock motor mount, this set is built out of stainless steel and it is looking like art work. the design is the same except for a few length differences to snake it where it needed to go to use the stock mount. the center two primaries and the 3" up pipe to the turbo are finished and the turbo has the exact same location as before, I built a jig that bolt to the front of the cylinder head and to the turbo up pipe flange and worked the plumbing to it.. no easy task for as I am sure those who are fabricating there setups can tell you. that was the toughest part of it as making two point meet with 3" pipe is difficult in small spaces. the rear primary is started and should not take but 30-40 minutes to get cut, tacked up, and fully welded when the route is perfect, the front primary is going to be a breeze and will have a much better entrance angle then the previous design. the crossover will be alot simpler as moving the passenger side manifold higher and above the motor mount left me gobs of room to direct flow very nicely. I need to get a flex pipe (2.5" in stainless) to complete the crossover, and am hoping to finish the two primaries and get the crossover with exception of the flex pipe finished up by tomorrow before bed.

once these manifold are finished, I saved myself the trouble of having to fab a new motor mount so that takes care of quite a few of the more troubling issues I was tumbling around with. the oil feed and drain lines are routed and run. I need to wire in the DFI Gen 7 and mount the coil, MSD box, find a new home for the power steering resevoir (need a new one, I broke one of the nipples off the bottom trying to remove the hose) and get just a few more little things wrapped up, it will be time to bring it to life for the first time. I am going to say I would like to have this thing running in the next 3 weeks. I am so gung ho lately it is ridiculous, 7 days a week I work on this thing.. but I love every minute of it.. watching it all come together, watching each piece get added on and knowing i built it in its entirety by learning new skills and laying out a design that came to mind while driving an hour commute to work 6 days a week a year and a half ago.. it is a wonderful thing to follow through with an idea.. so please be patient and I will try and get some new pictures up for all of you guys tomorrow night! I think you will agree, the stainless sets the whole thing off like fireworks!

thanks for looking in and sorry for the novel!! I get antsy after making big steps.. and you are the people who I look most forward to sharing it with!

sean,

sure man, just shoot me an e-mail and i will send ya my address, I know how it is with school, and I played soccer from age 5 through end of highschool and almost made college level at ECU, but my grades my first year kept me out of it..lol Greenville, NC has a way of sucking 18 year olds in for a while.

anyways, don't worry about keeping my eyes on the goal.. they are focused.. I wanna get this thing fired up and runnning, but I refuse to rush through something, I want it to look as good as it is going to run!
