Welcome, the 84's are reliable cars and with little work can get some decent power. I've had mine since 89 and have done some work to it, my fastest time to date is 13.7 (respectable), but as was said before, Corvette people are loyal to their cars, enjoy and have fun, if not then what's the use.......GOOD LUCK
Welcome and don't be beat up about the 84 crossfire. I have had mine for 2 years and enjoy it to death(not a pun). Never had ANY ccrossfire issues, just old care concerns. This bad boy runs about 100 miles a day and doesn't ever wimper just goes like the energize bunny.
Enjoy, and yes CFI-EFI is an excellent help, especially with the crossfires.

Very sorry to hear about your father but I'm sure he was confident that he was leaving this wonderful bit of Corvette heritage in good hands. I know you'll treasure and enjoy it in his memory.
The '84 is a great car. I bought mine and will never part with it. You will come to find that when well tuned, the crossfire system works very well. Yours should be in great shape given the low mileage. Treasure that car given its significance.
Cease Fire Injection. Won't Fire Injection. Miss-Fire Injection.
You will hear it all.
They are all full of crap. There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with that engine, as everybody above me will attest too. If you want speed, modify it. Nothing funnier than wiping the smirk off a stock tuned port owner's face (at the track, of course).
I've owned my 84 for 9 years now. In that time, I've never had a problem with the crossfire. I had to adjust the TPS once, but that's it. They are very reliable, contrary to what the misinformed will tell you.
Anyhow, sorry to hear about your father. Enjoy your car...you'll want to keep it forever.

The '84 is a definite piece of Corvette history. If you keep your baby up, the value will continue to appreciate. At the time, was THE leading edge of technology in the world of cars.
