Greetings. I'm Now The Owner Of An '84 By Inheritance. It Has 5200 Miles! I've Never Owned A Vette. The First Thing I'm Trying To Find Out About Is The Crossfire Injection System. So Far, I'm Not Hearing Good Things. Any Thoughts From Anyone? Thanks
The crossfire engine is a very reliable platform. The intake and heads are the major restrictions but, can be easily modified or replaced to make decent power.

Don't believe everything you hear, its mostly from people who don't own one. Welcome to the forum and enjoy your car
If you are content with a fairly fast (Low 13's defiantly possible) car and don't mind spending a little time the crossfire is a good system. BTW if you have thick skin and don't take things to personal CFI-EFI is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to the crossfire.
If you are going to work on it, make your first purchase a factory service manual. Go HERE. Your second purchase should be a digital volt-Ohm meter (DVOM). If you are familiar with GM EFI, the Crossfire is simply a throttle body injection (TBI) system with two 1 bbl TBs instead of one 2 bbl TB. If you aren't too familiar with EFI pick up a book or two on the subject. The FSM will help a lot but it is hardly a primer. As FD2NLK alluded, my 160,000 mile, worn out, stock long block, engine runs high 13's, as is. It has never had a head or the pan off.

Welcome
I just got my first crossfire as well wich was parked for about 4 - 5 years. New oil, reapaired some rubbers and the fuel pump connection hose, new saprk pñugs and cables (were very bad, and just started!!. Valves were stuck so missed a few cylinders. Poored some fine oil into the tb´s wile idling in order to lubricate valve stems. Improved directly. Now the engine runs very fine, no error codes and I am extremely happy with her. Just enjoy the car, its a special!!

Thanks to everyone for all of your comments. I'ts very enlightening.
Within just a couple of days, I'm realizing just how special it is to own this car. I drove it to work today to show off, and everybody is going Ga Ga! But I'm anxious to get it back home to the garage, grab a chair and a couple of AMERICAN beers, stare at it for a few hours, and thank my DAD endlessly, may he rest in peace.
Thanks again to everyone. I've obviously entered into a beautiful new world!
Welcome to the world that is Corvette madness, Ive also recently bought an 84 crossfire to go with my 1990, but I have just fitted the ally heads and complete speed density TPI system that I had left over from my 1990 using a 91 Fbody ECM .
