I have an early '86 with iron heads and the EGR Tube (Part # 14092329) and steel clamp (Part # 14087580) can both be replaced. You will however need a special tool to crimp the new clamp at the base of the EGR Tube. I found a perfect tool at Grainger.com for this job. It is manufactured by Oetiker (Part #4E608) Side Jaw Pincer $24.87. Here is the link

I used a bolt cutter to crimp mine down tight. Had to preform the collar first in a vise with a chisel and hammer until it took the right shape. Turned out looking factory.
Do not waste your time with the Grainger tool...I bought that and it was a worthless POS I ever used.Use some good hand sized bolt cutters to pinch the new ring instead of the tool. Its far cheaper and gets the job done, provided you dont squeeze it so hard it cuts all the way through.

Just because you didn't know how to use the Grainger tool doesn't make it a worthless POS. Another FORUM member, who also used it very successfully, referred me to this tool and it worked well for me too. I couldn't find a small enough bolt cutter to fit in the tight space to crimp the clamp.

OMG...lmao! Is there like a magic trick to using this tool?Does it take 2 hands and um,a magical squeeze?
I had my engine OUT of the car ON an engine stand when I tried the tool on the egr feed clamp and the tool was STILL a POS! For the money spent, youre better off using or buying something that works well, like mini bolt cutters or the like.
Im glad yours worked for you but please dont assume I dont know "how" to use a grainger clamp tool.I didnt like it and voiced my 2 cents.
Even With the tight area in the car,I even found a set of old but strong wire cutters that could do the job just as well.
