I also posted this in the autocross and roadracing section:
I know I read in here that someone has removed those F45 shocks and replaced them with Bilsteins (or equivalent).
I tried a search but it came up empty.
I use the car as occassional DD and occassional AutoXer.
Any suggestions as to the type of shock? I don't really want to have to take off Koni's to adjust them all the time, so are the Bilstein Extremes worth a look?
Honestly the Koni's are great auto-x shocks. I don't auto-x, but have read many times that on C4's you do the majority of the adjustments with the front shocks. Once you get the rears dialed in, you'll most likely not have to mess with them again.
I can't imagine that non adjustable Bilsteins are going to be as versatile as the Koni's.
Just watch out for class restrictions. Adjustable shocks may bump you up one class or more depending on the sanctioning body and the class you are already in.
