Reading the pay it forward thread, i see that bilstein rebuilds their shocks, are all their shocks this way or only certain ones? my stock bilsteins (86 Z51) have 72,000 miles on them and it must be getting time to do some thing with them. What does it run to rebuild them, and after rebuilding and shipping is it cheaper to just replace them? ...joe

i have only heard they charge to rebuild for what you could get all new ones for at soome places. my 86 had them but i didn't want to spend that much so i got KYB shocks for less then half the cost. but then again i don't have a Z51 suspension.
Thanks guys, kyb's were my next question, i have them on my 4x4 and they work great, and yes i know it's apples and oranges. Bilsteins are around 250.00 and kyb's 150.00 the price differance isn't that bad , just need to know which will corner at high speed better and longest. thanks...joe
One thing no one has mentioned is that Bilstein will taylor the shock for your specific needs, not just rebuild it. It's something to consider if you think you might want something a little stiffer or milder than they were stock.
You might want to call them and ask about it before you make a decision.
