Default Door lock and key, please help!

Dear friends, I live in Spain and have a very cool Vette, but it has a little problem... no key for doors! At the moment, I open and close my car by remote control, but I am conscious that this is not a secure method. So my question is: what can I do or what need I to open and close my car manually?

Thank you for your assistance!

Ultimately someones going to need to cut a key for you. Even w/ the vin. w/out the car (if key has chip) some one would need to check resistance for security system. I think the easiest is getting it to a locksmith. A dealer (if available there) could but I am sure more expensive. Other options would be to take a lock cylinder out and bring , lot of work and you would probably rather spent the money to not have to go through that. JMO

What year is your car. My 87 has seperate keys for the door locks and ignition key so no pellet is needed on the door key.
Try www.vette2vette.com and they can sell you the door locks and keys off of a used C4 that will fit your car. Then take the door panels off and replace the locks with your "new" ones.
Don't ask me how as I have never done this on a C4. Someone here does know or Vette2Vette can tell you how to do it.

Any compatent locksmith can make a key while standing next to the car in the parking lot. The last one I had made cost me $40.00

That website is cool! I hope they ship worldwide. My Vette is an 88 and I love it! Keys are different for ignition and doors, so if Vette2Vette do not help, maybe a good locksmith here in Spain...

Again, thanks!

It's pretty easy to pull the inner door panel off and pull out the door lock cylinder. Took me about 30 minutes, to get cylinder out. $5 for a smith to make the key and voila, all set.
