Default 95 headlight motor...

keeps running after I cut them on and cut them off!!?? Anybody ever hear of that?
My passenger headlight motor will keep running for about 3 seconds after the headlight finishes its complete flip.(on or off doesn't matter)
Am worried it is gonna burn it up in time....

Any suggestions would be of huge help!!

Thanks,
Joal

P.S.
Been gone for awhile....it's good to be back and I like the changes on the forum!!

Default Same problem/ Fixed

I had the same issue w/ my'95. Looked all over car for an electronic stop , but simply turned out to be the bushings. $10 at Mid America for both lights, and a couple of hours on a Sat. and your fixed up. My bushings had completely turned to dust. Gear was still fine. only symptom was the same as you are seeing . both lights went up and down w/o problems, just continued to cycle for 3-5 secs after going up or down. Do a search on the headlight motor bushing replacement and find a link to the corvette fever article that shows step by step. Good sound info.. Job is a piece of cake. Good luck.

In a short while, your lights will wear their bushings even more and stop at half way!! Its a common thing mate, its simply just the 3 destructable bushings in the gear assembly itself. Nothing to worry about. As Rufneck said they turn to dust.

You need to replace your bushings. Click the Corvette Fever link here. http://corvettefever.com/howto/33098/

You can get replacement bushings from Home Depot or from MAM, Eckler's and other specialty catalogs at a higher price plus shipping.
