Apparently, the original outer sweeps have been replaced. The rivets are gone and screws are in their place. I pulled the door panel and loosened the 2 window guides in order to install the sweeps. I placed the sweep clips into the small holes on the door then tighten the screws.
I tested the window and now I have an intermittent problem with the window. The window will go half way up then stop, if I release the power window button and wait about 10 seconds then hit it again the window will go all the way up. Same thing going down. I backed off the window guide thinking there was to much pressure, no good. I greased the shaft, no good. WTF, I didn't touch the window bolts, power connector, nothing. Then the 3 studs on the upper cover that rests on top of the door panel snapped when I picked it up. I have to replaced that. WTF. I don't use the F word often, today I did.
The passenger side window has always been fine. Any ideas?
Sounds like something is binding the motor and it's tripping the circuit breaker, thus the 10sec delay. Maybe another closer look will yield the answer.
Good luck
They are a little tighter when new but mine did not do that. There are 2 tensioners (forward&rear)that push the window out you only mentioned one.I replaced the felt on mine.

Just for $hit and giggles, where is the circuit breaker located? I'll give a good visual in the morning.
What could be binding? Wires, connectors? I didn't drop anything and as I mentioned all was fine for years.

i believe the breaker is in the motor and you aint gonna see it. the new sweeps may be the culprit and causing enough friction to make the motors overheat

I removed the two pressure guides and let the window move freely, no friction, pressure, just the window moving freely.
I thought maybe it was the new sweeps. Considering the sweeps have fresh clips on the back that mount to the inner door and create pressure when the screws are tighten, but I eliminated that thought when I backed off the 2 window guides and the window became "free".
