new to tuning!!!
Hey everyone!
What kind of performance improvement can be made with all of the software tuning programs i read you are using? I've had my '94 for less than a year so I still have a ton of stuff to learn. Can HP be raised without changing the engine itself? I friend told me to put a new chip in to increase power but I honestly dont have much of a clue about this yet. feel like a moron asking but if you dont ask, you'll never know.
Any info or a link to some tuning basics would be greatly appreciated!!

Check out the tuning guide at the top of this forum.
Also good introductory material here:

And there are several other great sites/forums in which to gain knowledge.
While a custom program can help even a stock engine, it becomes more beneficial when engine modifications significantly increase airflow, actually a requirement to get all you can out of an EFI engine.
Do your research, ask questions, and make sure you understand what the ECM is doing.
Then have fun!
