My first Corvette, a 92 burned on the freeway. That day it had 195,000 miles with the factory Optic Spark. As you can read, I can't say nothing bad about the Optic Spark.
The LT1 puts out more power than the mighty L98. The LT4 puts out even more.
its 50/50 the l98 is a 1-2nd gear car but the LT1s will take top end.. i love my L98 tho... the ease of work compared to the LT1s is so much better (and not just because of Opti)
All I know is when my lovely 1985 is ready to roll that there might be a few "mighty" lt1's surprised.
lol ive surprised many a Lt1 owner Vette and F-body alike ... lol i took my car to a Gm dealer to check a once over from the gm specialists .. and he said my vette was a factory freak lol especially at 124k miles!
Opti sucks we all no this. Its the reverse coolant flow that gets me hooked on the LT1. The ability to run high compression realiably is what I like. I run 11 to 1 no problems....The LT1 also has a better intake platform. If I am not mistaken, the stock LT1 plenum can support 500hp. These are my reasons.
