The C4s that the LT1s came were better built cars than the L98 cars. This is especially true of the 95 and 96s.

its 50/50 the l98 is a 1-2nd gear car but the LT1s will take top end.. i love my L98 tho... the ease of work compared to the LT1s is so much better (and not just because of Opti)

l 98 and lt1 are both good motors, just differnt power range, the only thing that makes it really differnt is the intake.

LT1!!!
Opti sucks we all no this. Its the reverse coolant flow that gets me hooked on the LT1. The ability to run high compression realiably is what I like. I run 11 to 1 no problems....The LT1 also has a better intake platform. If I am not mistaken, the stock LT1 plenum can support 500hp. These are my reasons.

Most LT1's we race are relatively stock, they don't need hardly any mods to be in the 12's.
In Germany, all stock LT1 were slower than my stock L98. Perhaps, these guys can't drive a 1/4 mile?!?
Top-speed is another thing ... pro for the LT
