Default Vacuum Line

I have an 86 and Im trying to track down a vacuum line. This line connects the front left side (Drivers Side) bumper area. This is the place where the Charcoal canister sits. This vacuum hose connects right across from the canister on a plastic mold that looks like a large softball. Only one small vacuum hose connects to it. The line seems to travel on the left side (drivers side) of the engine and then seems to dissappear behind the engine. My question is that about half way down the line near the left header pipe I see a break in the vacuum line with a "t" connection installed. I see the other piece going to the back of the engine but I dont see where the other line goes so I have taped it off for now. Any ideas on where this line goes. I have connected everything according to the diagram on the fan shroud but I do not see this connection.

It's for the cruise control. It starts from one of the vaccum ports at the right rear corner of the plenum, next to the fuel pressure regulator line. It goes into a vaccum check valve near the base of the distributor. About 2 feet or so after the out side of the check valve it spilts into a "T". One end of this "T" goes to the vaccum ball you saw along the fender. The other end of it goes to one of the ports on the cruise servo. The other port on the cruise servo goes though the firewall and onto the brake pedal release.

If you would prefer digital pictures instead, let me know and I can take and post some tomorrow.

That diagram does not show the cruise control vaccum routing, which seems to be what he needs.

Here's the check valve by the distributor.

Line A comes from the right rear corner of the plenum
Line B goes along the back of the motor towards the driver's side and splits into the "T" section you mention. One side of this "T" goes to the round vaccum tank at the left front corner, the other to small nipple on the cruise servo.
Line C is for the AC I believe.

Default Vacuum Lines

Thanks for the help. I took the Cruise control assembly out a few years ago because of a small fire in the engine bay. My negative battery cable was rubbing against something on the back of the engine. Its rubbed through and shorted itself on the block frying my new braided fuel lines, and catching the harness cover on fire under the master cylinder. Scary thing to almost see your vette burn up in front of you!!!

Default battery cable

That was the only thing I could think of because the metal wire inside the Negative battery cable was worn through badly . It was causing the entire car to go dead for about a second while I was driving. Then it would kick back in. One day the cars electronics went dead for about a second and then kicked back in so I decided to park it and see a friend. As Im talking to my friend outside this guy pulls up and says my car is smoking real bad from the engine. I popped the hood and I had several small fires in the engine bay. Grabbed a hose and put it out. I changed out the Cable and fixed some wires from the Cruise control that got burned. It started right up and I have had no other problems since.

I think it would be cheap insurance to check the condition of your Cables. Who would of thought?
