Hypertech coil/cap/rotor question???
If I was to install this Hypertech kit on my 91 L-98 can I still use the stock aluminum cover that hides all of this? Some people say yes, some say no, I need an answer from someone who actually has tried. Thanks for any help.

It fits on my '88 L98.
The only machining necessary is to enlarge the rectangular opening in the black wire retainer that sits on top of the wire tips.

65Z01,
Thanks for the quick reply. By "machining" do you mean something I can do with a Dremel tool or do I need a machine shop? Thanks again.

I just installed one on my 88. I ordered the trimmed cover from corvettecentral.com abiout $20. The stock cover would have fit. Would have touched the cover or at least been very tight. I wanted the Hypertech coil to show. (It has a cool tag on it) .

Larry, I used the term "machining" loosley. I used a Dremel cutter to remove necessary material inisde the rectangle and a sanding drum to smooth it out. Anyway, mine is under the Al plenum tail piece for that "stock" look.
