Default How many records when dataloging?

Using Datamaster tts software, I let my 1987 car/computer datalog for two hours + and finally reached 15,000 records downloaded. I understand this is the capacity of the of this system but when I stoped the computer software it was still counting up beyond that number.

Question: How much do we actually have to download, or datalog, to get a representative sample. For a proper annalysis, Is it necessay to datalog 15,000 records??

15k is a lot of data to sort through. When I do it I just go for about 20 minutes at a time, enough to get idle, part throttle, accel, decell & WOT if it is needed.

WHen sharing the datalog with my tuner, I have a repeatable run that takes about 15 minutes. From a dead cold start and idle until H2O temp is at 180. Drive out to my favorite flat spot and do a 0-100 run. Stop the recording and strat agin for the drive home, then let it idle for a few minutes in the driveway before shutting down.

There is more than enough info there nad he can see all the facets of the engines operation. The resulting tunes he provides are great!
