I have 1990 T.P.I. 245hp, auto-trans, engine oil cooler with 75,000 mi.
Everthing work good but looks old and dirty, Removed engine and trans to freshen up and repaint & reseal...Engine inside good shape Bottom end Bearings were in good shape,,Going to polish crank and new bearings STD..Block knocked out all plugs, tap front cam plugs also oil filter by-pass valve,,Block degreased & honed,, cleaned all oil gallery passage- ways..Cam looks good going to replace all roller lifters,,Up-grade to double roller timing chain set also roller rocker arms..Heads not apart yet??? My Questions I want to elimitate air pump and EGR system as to EGR system can I put a blocked dummy EGR valve and block the heat tube from exhaust to intake,,,will this help or hinder the performance.. My intension to keep smogg stuff on to look orginal but inoperative...Any suggestions will be appretiated on engine also auto trans up-dates if any...Thank You Leo

You can eliminate the EGR but you'll also need to have it disabled in the PROM chip so it won't throw any codes.
Why replace the roller lifters? They very rarely ever wear out or fail.

Sure, I can do a chip burn for you. When you get ready to do it send me a PM and we'll figure out what all you need/want done.
