Default OD early shift

Noob here. I have a 93 ruby with 101K miles. For the past couple weeks when I'm running at about 45-55 MPH, if I slightly push on the accellerator it up-shifts into OD. I did a search and can't find this same symptom. Any ideas?

At 47 mph it should shift into O-drive.
If you apply light pedle it will shift into drive.

It does just the opposite. It shifts into OD when I push the pedal. It may be me for a transmission fluid flush and change. Can't hurt. I'm just worried that there is something more serious going on.

I would check the trans shift cable adjustment.
Flushes usually I have found don't work, trans and fileter should be changed every 36thousand miles.

The overdrive in 93 was electrically (ECM)controled it has nothing to do with the TV cable. That is why it can be changed by a tune. The electrical plug on the tranny is there for a reason.

Well, thanks for the posts. Don't really know where to go from here. I haven't had the vette long enough to know when the last transmission fluid change was. Could it be that the tranny is just slipping when in OD???

That is possible. I would let a local pro run some pressure checks on it to be sure it is healthy.
