I've got a Hayes single mass flywheel, new centerforce DF clutch and pressure plate. Using stock fork with TO from centerforce. This is the second one I've had on here and it's slipping again. The last disc showed signs of cracking at the ends which leads me to believe that the disc is hitting the flywheel at an angle and not completely flush so it allows it to slip. Anyone encounter this problem with this set up? Since I'm running a single mass, do I need a different fork?
Was the last disk worn down a lot, like down to the rivets. If it's not worn down much the flywheel is machined too much and will cause premature clutch failure.
Roger at Centerforce Tech told me that you can machine the Single Mass FW down to NO LESS THAN a 1/8" CLEARANCE/GAP between the Crank/FW bolt heads and the Clutch Disc Springs. Once you get close to the 1/8" gap point, you need a new FW.
Regarding the crack on the ends, my guess is that the PP, "might" not be releasing completely.
Thanks guys. My FW is almost new. What would cause the PP not to release fully? I do get a little crunch going into gears. The engine will roll right thru 4th gear though so it's definitely slipping too. Think I have two seperate issues?

My guess would be that the hydraulics's are not stroking far enough due to air in the line, or leaking fluid, or master cylinder issues.
You probably have checked all of the times that I mentioned.
Another possibility is that the TOB/tranny sleeve might need a good lube
One other thing to note is that if the weight of the tranny sits on the clutch disk during installation it will bend the disk and could cause the wear on the outer edges you mentioned.
