I have a vibration in the car that starts at around 3k rpm and ends around 5k rpm. It is more noticable between 3k and 4k rpm and then fades off the higher it revs. I think it is in the clutch but I have seen posts about bad flywheels. Maybe a spring in the pressure plate broke or went bad some how. It happens in any gear and I don't believe I feel it when I rev it in neutral. Just normal engine vibration. Any help would be great.
I have a 1994 LT1 with a 6 speed. 76k miles. original clutch and I drive the car hard but not abusive. Thanks in advance.
I am sure my vibration is not a missfire or hesitation. If the car was beat on by the previous owner, could that have damaged the pressure plate? I have 4 new tires.
Is there a way to check and see if the DM flywheel has been resurfaced without removing the trans? Is there a way to check and see if the DM is operating correctly? The flywheels are about $700 so I do not want to just quess. I will, however, put in a clutch as a test. Any other help would be great. Thanks.

Hehe, welcome to my world. It sounds like your problem and mine are slightly different, however. Mine never goes away (it just keeps getting worse). Verify that it happens with both the clutch depressed and engaged (leave the tranny in neutral).
If it only happens with the clutch engaged, we've ruled out FW and Harmonic Balancer.
