Today I found a leak under my master cylinder: after I changed my brake pads, rotors, brake booster, adjusted the booster rod 6 times, bled the brakes twice and all along it was the master cylinder.
My question is after I change my master cylinder this should fix my brake problem right? It has to be causing my hard brake pedal since everything else has been changed right?
I'll be the first. A hard pedal 90% of the time means a brake booster going south or a vacuum leak going to the booster. You said you changed out the booster. You need to run the test for a booster (check vacuum) or check the vacuum line. Use your factory service manual and follow the steps.
In answer to your question, do I need a master cylinder? When they go south you usually get a soft pedal or it goes all the way to the floor.
