Default Bellhousing Install Question

Ok I tried a search, but it didn't reveal much.

When installing a bellhousing for a ZF-6 Do you need to take out the ball joint? Or can you finaggle it on somehow?

Thanks guys, I'm kinda in a bind here.

I had to put the pivot ball into the fork, hold that onto the t/o bearing while putting the bellhousing in place... then last, thread the pivot stud back into the bellhousing.

So the pivot ball does need to be disconnected from the bellhousing. Looks like I'm running to Sears to pick up a 12mm Allen wrench. Thanks.

You can get it in if you turn the bellhousing counterclockwise and then place the arm on the throwout bearing and then turn the housing clockwise until lined up. That's how I got mine in.

You do not need to remove the pivot ball. You just need to play with the T/O bearing a bit to get the fork to slip ovee then twist it to lock it into place. it is not a bad job at all.
