Superram base, difference vs stock

Default Superram base, difference vs stock

There is a passage in the Accel base that goes to cooling passage
which doesn't exist on stock base.

Should I just plug that hole?

Yes you can just plug that hole, its in there for the temp sender for the 9th injector ( cold start injector ) found on some of the earlier vettes

He's right, you can plug it. I used it for the location to put the sensor for my lower temp fan switch. Good luck.

I want to put a temp switch for an additional fan there and need to make an adaptor ...

Sorry Sliding if I hijack this thread but I have question.
I have a Superram. mine is a 90
I haven't (it's a 90...) a cold start inj.
I know that peaolple with 88 and earlier have to PLUG a hole in the fuel rail. To make the story short all people with an 88 or earlier have to delete the 9th injector...Right?
Reading a tech article in the Vader's site I read this advise:
"
12. On applications where the cold start solenoid is not used, a block off plug and plate with an O-ring is supplied. This should be installed in the machined hole in the drivers side runner and held in with a runner bolt. "
My question: In this advice we are not speaking of the hole in the front PASENGER side of the intake manifold (the hole of the Sliding question..) AND we are NOT also speaking of the hole to plug for the people with the 9th injector that have to plug a hole in the FUEL RAIL.

Here we are speaking of a hole in the DRIVER side of the RUNNER.
Could someone clarify this?
And what happens if this hole is NOT plugged in a factory car WITHOUT the CSI as mine?

Its either 3/8" or 1/2" NPT...Sorry I can't remember which exactly it is. I just got a brass plug from Home Depot and put it in with Permatex PST thread sealant.

I believe the runners are of a universal design, they come with the hole for the CSI. If you don't have/use the CSI you need to use the block off plug he mentions or you'll have a HUGE vacuum leak.

I'm absolutely positive it's smaller than 1/2" NPT. So I guess that it must be 3/8". The coolant nipple is 1/2NPT.

Is this plug located at the base of the driver side runner?
Is it held in place betwen the intake manifold and the runner?

I just bought a cold start plug from The Detail Zone for $8.

www.thedetailzone.com there are other sources as well if you run a search.

Even though I now have the plug, I am half-tempted to just use some Fasteel (steel reinforced epoxy) to make a plug to fill and bond to the hole in the runner. If I ever want to go back to the CSI, this maybe a problem to remove...

On a related note: I have already used some Faststeel on one of my SR runners to build up the gasket sealing surface about 1/8" in the vicinity of the egr ports where the gasket slots tend to be cut too close to the edge of the flange. I have the good gasket with the corrected straight slot length 3/4", but the other one is borderline.

I guess I'll try the plug that I have first and see if it leaks. I will probably also use some yamabond4 for sealant.

I ordered the wrong part and ended up with the plug (wanted the plug for fuel rail) you are looking for. Let me know if you need it.

Mine is holeless too It seems that they made a version of runners for with CSI and without CSI
