You need the yoke from the D36 drive shaft ,you need the D44 drive shaft and you need to measure your trans output shaft .
Easy way is to look at the tail shaft on your 700r4 where the rear seal
is and if it in non corvette you will have 1 1/2 inches sticking out past the real trans seal.It still should work.

I made calculations and the manual DS (that I'm searching...) will fit even with the longer tailshaft i discovered I have.

This is my stock driveshaft and the custom one from strange engineering.

$219 for a computer balanced 3" chrome-moly driveshaft with u-joints.
It it listed with 1350 yokes, but they made mine with one 1350 and one 1310 for the same price. It is heavier than the stock aluminium driveshaft, but it is stronger too.

Thanks, your site is a very goodsource of good pics!
I'll check the link!

Beppe,
although what I am about to suggest is not textbook way of doing it, it will work

You may take a hose clamp and clamp it arount the output shaft where it needs to be cut. Approx 7 3/8.
Then you can use a cutoff wheel an zip the end of the shaft down. Then dress the end with a file. It will be much cheaper than a new driveshaft and will not hurt anything, provided you work slowly and do not put a ton of heat in the shaft while cutting. Takes about 10 minutes to cut thru. I have done it for buddies without pulling the trans. Only the tailhousing will need to be removed.

...Even thinking to cut the tailshaft, there is no way to fit the D36 Driveshaft.
I made some calculation an if i cut 5/8" or 11/16" from the tailshaft I'll be with the big round part of the yoke against the tailshaft housing.
..I'm searching a manual driveshaft .
