Well...I started to lower my rear sus. last evening and it went well so far...23years of rust sucks, anyway, I did the pass side only(ran out of time), but when I lowered the floor jack it lowered the car but it seems that the middle bushings did not seat right?? Is this just temperary?? meaning when i do the driver side will they seat or did I do something wrong...help ladies and gentleman.
I just lowered my 92. I don't know of any "middle bushings '. I belive its the same configuration. I didn't like the ride & re-installed the stock bolts.
The car takes a few miles to settle the suspension after lowering . Mine was so low that it bottomed out with full gas tank & passenger. Looked cool though .
Sorry for the bad descrip. I am talking about the bushings that sit on top of the spring and underneth the top of the bolt. There is a total of four...one all the way at the bottom by the nut, one on the top below the bolt, and the two in the middle.
I am gonna do the other side tonight and see how it sits...took a stock rear height measurement...from floor to top center of the lip on well...

The suspension will bind as you lower the car off the jack, preventing the car from dropping all the way down.
Drive it about 15 feet and it will settle into its normal ride height and put the weight back on the springs.
I finally got the other side done...It dropped just over an inch on both sides. It definalty changes the look and the ride. It looks mean, twice as mean with the wider tires in the rear. I cant wait to do the front.
fsr402: I have the tool knowledge, but I have never fooled with balljoints and leaf springs...is this a driveway project or get my mechanic to do it?? The rear was cake. I really dont want to spend the money on labor if I can accomplish this myself.

You "can" do it on jack stands but it will be hard to get the spring out. When I did mine I had it up on my home-made ramps and then I took the front of the ramps apart leaving the front of the car hanging off giving me over 2 feet of room from the frame to the ground.
