Default Cruise control

I recently purchased an 89 Vette convertible and wonder if anyone is having the same problem with their car. I engage the cruise control on the Parkway or Turnpike and the first time I drive over the slightest bump in the road, the cruise control disengages. Is there a simple solution to fix this or is there a major repair involved? Any help would be appreciated.

This is possibly a simple to solve problem.
It's probably the brake switch and/or clutch switch. These can come out af adjustment fairly easily. They're set so that the slightest touch of the brake or clutch will disengage the system. Try lifting the pedals with your toe when the symptom exists. The manual describes the adjustment.

Sure sounds like a brake switch. Heres some reading from the bible
