Default More Flame Outs

I replaced my fuel pump yesterday thinking that would solve my problem with the car cutting off once in a while. The fuel filter was so clogged I could barey blow through it. I was sure that fixed the problem, well it did for one day. Today a new problem it starts and shuts down right away. After several flame outs it starts and drives just fine. Could it be the fuel pump with intermitting issues or the ignition switch or key. I would think when the pump goes it goes perminent. 1993 C4 any input?

FPR or a FP relay possibly. Real need to scan for codes though, anything else is just guessing.

I will look for codes tonight. This all started after I replaced the fuel filter and I did pull a 10amp fuse listed as FP1. I assumed it was the Fuel Pump fuse. Is the FP1 fuse the Fuel pump?

are you using a fuel pressure gauge to be certain the gremlim is in the fuel supply?...hate to shoot the waiter for the cooks mistake.

did you put a new wiring ''harness'' on with the new pump?...rumor (from g kilebrew hisself at carlisle) that terminal ends corrode and cause pump sickness

I will check the fuel pressure tonight. The only thing I replaced was the fuel filter on Sunday. It seemed to get worse after I replaced the filter which was clogged. After it does start after three tries it runs great. Could it be somthing in the ign key chip or the ign switch?

Put a fuel pressure guage on it, this will tell you if it is related to your fuel system or you ignition system.

Fuel pressure fine. Today car working just perfect has not stalled at all. Will replace ign module just for trouble shooting. Any other advice. Since there are no codes not sure what else to check.

Bet it was some air trapped in the fuel lines. Shouldn't have been, but at least it serves as an explanation.

Wht not take the ignition module to Autozone and have them test it before replacing it? Just make sure they run it through at least 10 cycles.

I was not aware Auto Zone was able to check it. That does make sense since the module is $155.70 and the coil is $73.39.
Funny thing is yesterday it worked every time I started it.
Air in the line makes sense.

If you're in there I'd suggest testing the pick up coil as well-just remember when you ohm it to wiggle the wires-THAT is a major part of the test.

I tested the Pick Up Coil yesterday but did not wiggle it. I can do it again tonight. It was ok yesterday.

AC Delco ign module is $78 at Advanced here in Ga. Coil is less than $50, but don't remeber exact price.
