Default Automatic Climate Control Upgrade

Has anyone upgraded their manual climate control to auto climate control? I found a deal on an '87 Vert, but it doesn't have this option. What would be involved in his upgrade? Control head, programmer, wires, outside temp sensor, and inside temp sensor? Has anyone done this?

the electronic climate control uses different duct control. The manual system, if I remember rightly, uses cables and such... whereas C68 uses vacuum.

I would wait until you found the right car.

The conversion would also require the interior thermisters and harnessing.

Trust me, it ain't worth it...

I would just leave the manual one in. Is it worth the hassle?

Siveck - I get the feeling from your ZF thread and this, you are looking at buying an 87 and making it the way you want... I would suggest this, keep looking and get an 89 with what you want; as long as a TPI/Atari dashed corvette is what you want.

If you just have a lot of time and money that you were planning to flush down the toilet anyway, then go for it. I'm sure it is possible, just find a wrecked donor car with the ZF6 and ACC that you want.

Otherwise buy the car you want in the first place.

We all know how much fun it is to flush money down the toilet . After some extensive nationwide online searching, I'm probably going to hold out for an '89 with the option. I don't recall ever seeing an '89 without the climate control option. It would be some good information for anyone wanting to upgrade though.
