Has anyone tried to use a PCM chip before from an aftermarket company. I was just screwing around today and came across the Jet Performance Stage II chip which advertises a 25 horsey gain tune. For a tune chip...are these any good or would it be better to stick to PCM for less or a mechanic/dyno tune?

haha and check out Jet Performances LT4 dyno sheet...stock 261 rwhp. Thats what they get for using a mutang chassis dyno... I think that made up my mind just seeing that.
I wasted money on a hypertech and another ebay chip before I got smart and contacted ski_dwn_it, a forum member and supporting vendor for one of his custom chips. My car NEVER made the power it makes now with his chip. Save your money on the over-the-counter chips and get one custom made for your car. BTW, the ebay chip almost cost me my engine, just one more reason to get one from someone who knows what he's doing.
JET SUCKS! I have had a personal screwing from them and many others as well. I have read their so called custom chips and found some of them with ABSOLUTELY no changes, another one of their custom chips for a blower application had fuel removed from the PE tables and timing added!! Avoid them like you would HERPES!
First thing I did when I bought my 84 was remove the chip he had installed to make a race car! It messed up the fan relay, idle speed, shift points, mid range torque, and radio stations,
Put a Traco chip in my 86, it made a tremendous difference. Put a Jet chip in my 92, it dyno'd 2 HP less than the stock chip. Aftermarket chips seem to help in L98's, but not in LT1/4's from my experience.
