Hey Jeff. If your still having the same problem, I found the problem with my T/A running the same. I found that the IAC was not seated properly in its bore. I pulled it out, cleaned it and the bore it goes into and reinstalled it with the gasket and made sure it was nice and tight. No more wandering idle- done. Hope this helps. This problem's been driving me nuts for a long time.
yeh after changing out fuel injectors, car needed those baddly....and resetting the IAC and TPS to correct base. The car runs just about near perfect, has a little bit of a high idle but nothing serious. My bro's pretty happy. However that was before he figured we had the problem licked.
Returned once again to the inspection place and yes once again it failed.
Same thing only this time even worst. High levels of NOX.
Only thing I find odd is that the car doing the test never put a fan in front of my bros car. I don't know if thats enough to cause this sorta problem, but I have heard its not helping thats for sure.
I know your gonna believe this- but my search is still on now also. After taking the car for a long drive- it started acting the same way again. I gonna put a rebuild kit in the fuel pressure regulator being that its got 195k on it. I've pretty much eliminated all else. So if it works, you'll hear from me. But not before I'm sure that that was the problem.
