What size trans cooler?
My car is getting all the goodies put on it. I am ordering a Vigilante and a transmission cooler. Precision sells 3 sizes- all 3/4 thick. They are 5X12, 7 1/2 x 15 1/2, and 10 x 15 1/2. Jack from Precision told me to get the largest that would fit. My problem is that I do not have my auto to do the measuring. It is an '87. Any help would be apreciated.

Get the biggest one you can fit in your car.

You shouldn't have any trouble with that largest size one. You will need to take apart your shroud to get a nice open area to work to mount it. I would recommend mounting it with metal plumbers tape instead of pushing those plastic ties through your radiator. I mounted mine this way and I think it is better to get it away from the radiator a bit. In this picture you can see I used the plumbers tape to mount the oil cooler and the tranny cooler is hanging there waiting patiently to be mounted. One note, the cooler in this picture is not sufficient for vigourous road racing. I would see tranny temps of 250 degrees after just 15 miles on the road race coarse. So I have the largest B&M plate type cooler on my work bench now waiting to be put in. Just gotta find the time now. For general driving this cooler is fine tho. Make sure to put in a temp guage on your tranny fluid.
