The trans shop probably just swapped a generic 700R4, off the shelf, rather than rebuild your Corvette core. The Corvette version of the 700R4 is the only 700R4 that will stay in overdrive at WOT. If the trans shop won't make it right, B&M and probably others market the GM 3-4 shift sleeve that has to be installed into the valve body to allow WOT in OD.

This issue has been beat to death on the forum...I'm on my 8th 700R4. My original 700R4 never stuck in 4th under WOT. None of the original trans rebuilds did either. I bought a "new" 700r4 from GM...it stayed in 4th at WOT. That trans was toast in less than 6 months. They replaced it under warranty. The "new" transmission didn't stay in 4th under WOT at operating temperature but would stay there when it was cold. GM won't touch this issue...don't get me started
After talking to a few people and reading posts about it, I would say the answer is ... it depends. It appears as though that part of the transmission design is sensitive to production tolerances, wear, fluid viscosity and temperature. You're lucky if you have one that sticks in 4th at WOT!
I did not know that you could buy a new trans from GM. I heard a rumor that even the reman's are discontinued. Every one I build that I want to shift into 4th at wot, does.
