Default How do you change headlights?

How do you change the headlights on a 94 corvette? I searched the archives and couldn't find anything specific. I bought one of those replacement headlight assemblies so that I can use H4 bulbs. Thanks for any help in solving this.

I didn't find a write up on it but I also replaced mine with the changable casings. Leaving the lights flipped in the off position I opened the hood. I believe there were four screws holding the actual lights in via a metal bracket. I remove those. Don't confuse those screws with the alignment screws that have some type of spring on them. I pulled the lights out and disconnected the wires. Put the new lights in their new casings, connected the wires, put them in, and reinstall them with the metal bracket and screws. Adjustments are made using the adjustment screws. I believe you are supposed to be 25 feet from a wall on level ground with the ligths on. For vertical adjustment try to get the heigth from the ground to where they shine on the wall the same as the heigth from the ground to your actual lights on the car. I believe the horizontal adjustment or distance between the lights should be the same as the distance between the actual lights on the car. There may be a better way to install them by removing the painted casings but I just removed the lights themselves. That is all from memory but I hope it helps, someone correct me if I'm wrong on anything. Haynes repair manual also has the procedure for adjustment. And be very carefull not to drop the screws in the casings like I did. I noticed my bushings went downhill really fast after installing these. I wonder if it's because of the weight difference. The new lights weigh much less.

I am not shure about the part your talking about but to change the bulb turn head lights on when they spin half way around switch back to parking lights and the head lights should stop. Then you have room to remove cover.

Thanks for that information as well. I am getting ready to tackle it. I am going to change out the lamp housing for one that will allow me to just change the bulbs (H4). Anyway, thanks for all of the help. Man don't you just hate it when you are on a time cruunch? I am having to do this stuff during times when there are no showings on my home.

Whoa!! There are two phillips head screws they did not mention. Use the manual **** and turn the headlights about 1/2 to 3/4 way open, then walk around to front of hood and you will see phillips head screw on each side of the cover. Remove those two screws and the two on the inside of hood and lift off the cover. Then 4 screws that hold the h/l lamp in and you got it.

Thanks alot. You guys are the best. It's so good to know that there is a valuable resource available like this forum when times get rough. I can't wait to see how it turns out. I think I'm going to use Silverstars for the bulbs. Once again thanks for all of the help.

What replacement assembly did you buy? I would like to change out my headlights with something better?

The best description/explantion is found in the owners manual. It also has pictures.
