My 85's cruise control has quit working. The fuse is okay but when I pull the connector off the unit under the hood I have no "hot" connections. I tried with the key on and the cruise switch on but no power at any terminal. I also tested each terminal and pushed the set button, still no power. I know the digital dash is involved here and for a while I did have a flickering dash but it is not doing that anymore. The dash stays on fine. Could it be ground at the dash terminals? I just got this dash from a rebuilder 3 years ago so I hope I don't have to buy another one. Any ideas?

My cruise quit working this weekend also, I was trying to get the trip meter to reset while going down the road and the reset button popped right out onto the floor. I found the button and pushed it back in but the trip meter would'nt reset. The trip meter just stopped at 60 or so miles. The cruise stopped working at the same time the trip meter quit. A while later I checked and the trip numbers were going up again so I tried the cruise and it was working again too. I'm not sure if that helps you but I have to guess the two are related. AGENT 86, thanks I have my manual for the 85 but I haven't gotten into the tracing part of this yet I was hoping maybe I could go to something specific. Electrical diagrams are NOT my friend.
torkman15, thanks to you also, I wish I had known this before I started tearing into the dash this afternoon. I'll hook the battery back up, hit the reset button and see if I have power first thing tomorrow.
