Need help, bad tts interface between laptop and car
The laptop isn't recognizing the computer. I've tried on 2 differnet computers now and have gotten the same thing. Also, it only lets me go to usb port 3 for some reason. What's with that? I have the akm cable. I got it working on trial on one other laptop, but we sold that one and now I have to get it working on a different one. I need to get some scans in because my car is detonating.
Need more information. USB not recommended if you are trying to use it, very many interface problems. I hope you are using the 9 pin serial port connector. What kind of program are you trying to use and what is the problem you are having. What O/S is the computer using. Which AKM cable did you buy.
Using these scanner programs is not like works first time out of the box. Most are not off the shelf commercial products. There are many compatability and set up fetures that have to be right before they operate properly. With you having a 92 gives you a good choice of programs. Most have to go thru a trial and error period for awhile.
Explain detonation problem more. Load, RPM, gear etc. Did you check the EGR do see if was sticky or diafram in it ripped.
I believe that the computer has office 2003, so whater operating system that comes with that. I am using tts datamaster as the title implies. I bought the basic cable from akm with the end with the usb.
I'm not worried about finding the detonation once the program is running. I just need it to watch the o2's as i add fuell and alcohol. I did a pulley change which is causing it to run lean at wot.
You should go to the "Help" section (hit F1) of DataMaster and view the "Miscellaneous Topics" and then choose "Diagnosing Communication Problems" or even the topic "Tips for Using USB Serial Prot Adapters", this may help you solve your problem.
