Hey everyone,

I just bought my new mast and i am ready to install it. The only problem is that I dont know where to feed the metal end to. Where does it hook into?

What year Vette?
On the early antennas, inside there is a recess cut out on the drive gear for the hook end to hook to. Then the rest of the mast is wound around it. Here's an illustration.

You stick the gear down the antenna hole of the car while turning the radio on and off and eventiually it will grab. Mine still get's stuck every now and then but after applying paint thinner is works great.

That only works on the newer style. 86Pacer's drawing shows the style antenna motor you have. Here's a little more info on the subject.
