Headlight motor running
It seems my right headlight motor runs for an extra 5 seconds after the headlight is either opened or closed. I noticed it about 2 months ago.So far, it has never failed to open or close. Is it about ready to quit on me? Also, what is the **** next to each headlight assembly used for? (1994 C-4)thanks.

The plastic bushings in the motor gearbox are starting to wear out. They are cheap to buy and easy to install. do a search on this forum and you will find instructions on the replacement

You need to change the nylon drive gears (bushings) in the motor assembly. There are kits and not to hard to do. They make metal gears but some say the nylon last a long time also and are safer if something should jam. The nylon cost me about $20 with shipping from Ecklers.
The **** is for manual operation to raise the headlight if all elecrtonics fails. But if the bushing are bad, it still wont go up. Used also for headlight replacement, need to move it to get to the screws.
